FOWL...play...

This is Chip..He is 9 months old...Keen..BUT..not ready for formal day to day training...

THEREFORE...he finds his own work....

This is Leo (Aka: THE LORD OF THE BARNYARD)...He hates Chip and Chip Loves him...(In a very Fatal attraction kind of way)...They spar through the fence at times...(when Chip is in the dog yard)
Leo doesn't know it will only take one mistake.. or shall we say one slight breech of security in the barnyard gate..
This is the gate...Chip pushed his was underneath...I am sure it was with the intention to go have a look at the security measures his people had taken to keep him OUT of the sheep...But LOW and BEHOLD...he happened upon Leo... as he strolled leisurely through the barnyard..

This is the location of the "Fowl Play".. Most mornings Leo hangs on this fence line visiting with his sheep...

We were in the house drinking coffee...I saw movement...I arose with a clatter...(Amazing how fast you can find shoes at 7:00 AM on a Sunday..) of course only to find feathers everywhere...I mean everywhere...I was afraid...I caught Chip..took some sweet talk convincing to call him off...Leo had surrendered ...I thought he was dead...

Upon arrival back to the house after incarcerating chip...(to the kennel) Ron and I sprang into action to go rescue the bird. How do you doctor a bird ( I mean besides with butter, salt and pepper) for Thanksgiving.. We sprayed him down with antiseptic spray and set him up a cozy bed of hay in the barn, food and water..and Prayers...(not PREY'rs) took him 2 days to rear his head from the corner...now he is back to plucking around the barnyard...(has a few feathers left) No gobbling, and definitely no sparing through the fence at those pesky dogs...I think Leo figured out those pesky dogs he would bully...well they are savvy hunters and if they happen upon him first...well he best fly..

In the meantime...

Who me?
